A Great Experience at the Central 1 Annual Trade Show

Kudos to the folks at Central 1 for putting together such a great show last week! They should be especially recognized for putting together such a creative way to drive traffic to the booths. In the age of fading tradeshows, it’s great to see that show organizers are still so mindful of how important traffic is to exhibitors. Attendees at the show were given a “passport” where they had to go around the exhibit floor and get stamps from exhibitors. If they received 5 stamps, they were eligible for prize draws donated by the exhibitors and sponsors at the end of the show. We were also given “Bonus cards” to hand out to attendees who we thought took the time to get to know our product and weren’t there just for the sake of collecting stamps.

The show was well attended with a good mix of senior management folks and middle management and I was able to have many good conversations with the attendees. It was clear to me that many organizations were looking for simple, easy-to-use and configurable applications to help streamline their business processes. Credit unions continue to merge and in the process, are trying to look for ways to combine their back offices, drive efficiencies and lower operating costs. Common solutions that many have asked for included applications to automate their daily bank report distributions, ways to process mortgage applications faster and the ability to scan and index loan documents and other supporting documentation into an easily searchable and secure web archive.

It’s been great to see the market place be so responsive to all the solutions we’ve been offering. Almost half of the credit unions in BC have now signed up for an e-statement partner and the other half that haven’t are out there looking for a partner to link up with. I’m glad to say DOXIM continues to be the market leader in this space and I am confident we will continue to offer solutions that will meet the needs of the markets we serve.

AIIM 2008 Document Management Service Provider Executive Forum a Great Show

Since this was our first time at this show, I was a little hesitant on what to expect. Experience has taught me not all shows are what you expect and its better to hold your optimism than to be disappointed in the end. But I’m very glad we made the decision to go to the show and glad to have the opportunity to meet everyone.

Attending the show reaffirmed our belief that we have the right solution to offer to our target market and there is indeed a need for it. There were many opportunities that we identified. Primarily service providers that have many clients to support and wanted a scalable e-presentment and archival platform that had a financial, deployment and licensing model that worked for them and their clients.

Many of the people we met at the show were impressed by the flexibility and scalability of our model. In fact, when people asked us what made our solutions stand out from the rest, we were able to narrow down our benefits in our service bureau offering to the following:

Success Based Pricing: No complex or expensive user-based licensing models to untangle and manage. Our simple shared risk pricing model means we both benefit when a new client is added to DOXIM.

Highly Affordable: With most document management solutions, the start up costs are prohibitive so you can never get to a success based pricing model. DOXIM works with you to balance your investment over the short and long term.

Hosting Flexibility: You choose where and how to deploy DOXIM – we offer best in class remote hosting at our facility or you can operate within your own data center – your call.

Add New Customers Fast: Our true multi-tenant SaaS architecture makes it easy and affordable to add and configure new customers extremely quickly. As validation, the full DOXIM Administration Training course is completed in just a single day!

Charge your customers by the click: Why create a new complicated way to invoice your clients for electronic delivery? DOXIM makes it easy for you to charge by the page or the document. Our clever document replenishment system means your business never has to stop to get documents delivered.

Security: DOXIM has the systems and procedures in place to meet the service delivery criteria established in our ongoing SAS 70 audit process.

Once we were able to articulate why our solution was different from the rest, people started to understand what it was we were really offering and how we could mutually benefit from a partnership.

We’re excited for all the potential opportunities that are ahead. Thanks to AIIM for organizing a great show!

DOXIM Industry Focus Forum – Vancouver a Success!

We hosted our Industry Focus Forum in Vancouver, BC at the beautiful Fairmont Waterfront Hotel on Thursday, September 18th. The event was a great success and everything couldn’t have turned out better.  It didn’t even rain that day!  (Although it did rain the remaining weekend that I was there.)  The morning started off with a presentation from Chris Rasmussen, our President and CEO who shared his thoughts and vision on Effective One-to-One Marketing. Attendees also enjoyed a presentation from keynote speaker Jeffry Pilcher, CEO of ICONIQ who walked through the 11C’s of Breakthrough Branding with his interactive presentation. Barry Olson, our VP of Sales (who I can always count on to keep us on track and on time. Thanks Barry!) finished off the session before lunch on the different aspects of content management and how they can integrate seamlessly into a financial organization. After lunch, Robert Groves, partner of Davis & Co law firm, provided attendees with an information session on the Enforceability of Internet Contracts. Chris then wrapped up the session with his futuristic vision for records management for medium sized financial institutions for the next five to ten years.

Presentations made at the event are available to attendees. If you would like a copy of the presentation or have any questions regarding this or any other event held by DOXIM,  please let me know via email or phone at fchan@doxim.com or 905.307.3425.

Although the event was a pretty intimate gathering, it was no small effort to plan.  At the end of it all,  our whole team was delighted with the amount of participation and interaction from all the attendees.   There was so much knowledge and experience just sitting in that one room and it was great to see everyone’s willingness to answer questions and share their thoughts.  And of course as the person planning the event, it’s always nice to hear a compliment about how great the event was overall. :)

Thanks to all the attendees, partners and speakers that participated in the event.  This event wouldn’t have been such a great success without your contributions!

DOXIM Attends the 2008 CUSA Conference in Niagara Falls, ON

Kudos to the organizers of the CUSA Conference last week for a well organized event! The event took place at the Sheraton Fallsview hotel from Sept 3-5th and we were all able to reacquaint with many of our customers and meet some new faces.

We were privileged to be asked by the CUSA committee to speak at the event this year which Chris Rasmussen, our President & CEO and Martin Day, our VP of Operations gladly participated in. Chris’ presentation captured the audience as he talked about how technology was being used to create and maintain customer loyalty. Martin’s presentation took the audience on an eye opening journey on how innovative and emerging trends will transform banking. The two presentations went extremely well and we want to thank all our customer and partners who were there to support us. The CUSA Conference is a conference we make an effort to go to every year and we’re looking forward to next year’s conference already!

Wikia Green - A Community for Environmental Issues

Wikia Green

Here is an interesting tool from the founder of Wikipedia, Jimmy Wales based on his Wikia platform.

From his CNET interview Wales explains that ”The purpose of the site is not so much to bring day to day news about green topics, but rather a central knowledge hub for all things green.”

Leading Credit Unions and Banks have adopted, or are slowly adopting green practises into their overall corporate strategies.

We commissioned a White Paper on this very subject together with Strandberg Consulting, it has case studies from Vancity, Alterna, Envision and iNova Credit Unions.  Just in case you missed it you can find it here.

While similar green wiki’s exist today (do a Google search and several pop up) its hard to deny the influence and recognition of Wikipedia.

Full article and CNET interview with Jimmy Wales can be found at http://mashable.com/2008/09/09/wikia-green/

Do you have your own favourite green sites, if so what are some of your favorites?

Enhanced Statements

In this week’s instalment of solution related blogs, we’ll be talking about Enhanced Statements. Many organizations use data from their core banking systems to create basic printed statements. That may be sufficient for a simple paper statement, but these days, discerning customers expect an easy to read, attractive statement that looks the same whether it’s in print or online.

The continued need to support the corporate brand, enhance the customer’s experience and reduce call centre inquiries are all important considerations for financial institutions, and something that basic print statements are just not able to accommodate. Further to that, financial institutions are increasingly looking for ways to target their marketing messages and campaigns to the right audience, all in an effort to improve efficiency, reduce costs and provide a higher level of customer service and effective communication.

DOXIM’s answer to creating a more readable, attractive statement is our DOXIM Enhanced Statements composition process. It converts difficult to read, unattractive print outs into more attractive, easy to read statements complete with check images, targeted marketing messages and a custom look and feel. Doxim offers an array of flexible statement templates that can be customized to create statements that support virtually any design, and adhere to statement best practice standards.

Check image statements ensure businesses can continue to make checks available to their customers once Truncation and Electronic Cheque Presentment (TECP) and The Check Clearing for the 21st Century Act (Check 21) are fully implemented. DOXIM Enhanced Statements composition process uses extensive matching and logic to help maintain data integrity and to produce check image statements with a high degree of accuracy.

Message Management

DOXIM Enhanced Statements composition process, allows financial institutions to communicate more effectively with customers by employing comprehensive message delivery that includes important marketing messages placed directly on the statement. These messages can be created so they are consistent with a company’s overall marketing campaign, so what a customer sees on the printed statement looks the same as what they would see on the web or other marketing collateral. This eliminates the need for separate printed marketing inserts and results in a significant cost savings.

Great Benefits

DOXIM Enhanced Statements composition process offers valuable benefits. It enhances the customer experience by delivering great looking, easy to read statements, and by including check images on statements allowing for various customer preferences, such as numbers of checks per page.  Eliminating traditional marketing inserts and placing targeted ads directly on the statement increases cost savings and allows for a more effective means of communicating with customers.

Going Paperless

Once your statements are in a format that meets your requirements, the next logical step is to convert them into electronic statements, allowing customers the ability to view their statements and checks in an online environment.

By combining DOXIM Enhanced Statements composition process with DOXIM e-Statements, banking staff can respond to customer inquiries by consulting an exact image of the statement without having to sort through print records meaning most customer service calls can be handled in one step. Converting paper statements into electronic statements also reduces costs associated with print and mail, transportation, storage and resourcing.
